In what is effectively a national semi-final game, the #2 Alabama Crimson Tide (11-1) take on the #3 Georgia Bulldogs (11-1) in the SEC Championship Game Saturday at 4:00 ET. College football odds are available at Bovada sportsbook.
Three weeks ago, it had seemed that their national title hopes had been dashed when they lost at home to Texas A&M. Turns out that Alabama, 11-1 SU and 6-6 ATS , has another chance. Alabama has had a difficult time covering of late, having gone 1-3 against the number in their last four, losing three straight to LSU, Texas A&M, and Western Carolina, before destroying Auburn.
Georgia, 11-1 SU and 6-6 ATS, is riding a seven game winning streak into this game. Their sole loss of the season, a 35-7 loss at South Carolina, figured to end any hopes of playing not only for the national title, but potentially even the SEC title. But in college football, timing is everything, well, as far as losing goes.
Alabama is a 7 ½ point favorite. Other than the South Carolina game, Georgia’s performance has looked on par with that of Alabama, but figure the Alabama defense to smother Murray all day. Take the Tide – 7 ½ over at www.sportsbookroom.com.
