NCAA Tournament bids are very hard to come by for some mid-major schools and most conferences have to rely on their tournaments to earn the automatic bid and send a team to the big dance. The America East is a conference in that situation as Vermont and surprising Albany fight for a ticket. Check out the college basketball games at Bovada sportsbook.
Albany (23-10, 9-7) has put together a nice season but had fought struggles throughout the conference schedule. A lot of their wins came in the non-conference portion of their schedule, which included a 22 point loss at powerhouse Ohio State. Albany finished fifth in the America East, a conference with just eight teams, and were last of the teams who were above .500 in conference play. The bottom four were the punching bags of the conference and eight of Albany’s nine conference wins came against those four teams. Albany has taken out the top seed, Stony Brook, earlier in this tournament to make the final.
Vermont (21-10, 11-5) was victorious against the top-seed Stony Brook team who lost just two games in conference play. The Catamounts were 2-0 against Albany in the games that they played earlier in the year. Vermont has made a total of 5 tournaments with all of them coming after 2003 including last season when they advanced to the second round for the second time in school history. You might remember Vermont for beating Syracuse in the first round back in 2005.
Vermont has never lost ATS as they are 4-0-1 this season. Albany is 3-2 against the spread.
Vermont has too much experience in situations like these and have been the better team all year long. It is very tough to beat solid teams three times in one year but I think this is a case for that so first read about sportsbook promo codes.
