The Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres play the finale of their three game set tonight in San Diego. Ian Kennedy and Clayton Richard are the probable starters respectively. MLB odds at posted at Bovada sportsbook.
The Padres won game two of the series yesterday 2-1, scoring both runs in the bottom of the sixth. Eric Stultz was magnificent for the Padres going the distance and only giving up one run while striking out three. Tonight they during to Clayton Richard who enters with a disastrous 8.06 ERA and 1.76 WHIP to go with his horrifying 1-5 record. In Richard’s last two starts he has given up 13 hits and 1-0 earned runs, lasting just 10 1/3 innings. The Padres as a team have lost seven of his last eight starts. Richard’s last home start against Arizona, he lasted just 3 2/3 innings while giving up seven hits and five earned runs. As a team, however, the Padres have won four in a row and are 19-20 at home this season.
The Diamondbacks hope Ian Kennedy can right the ship tonight. The former Yankee enters with a 5.49 ERA and 1.35 WHIP to go with his 3-4 record. He has pitched four straight games on the road. In his last two starts against the Cardinals and Dodgers, Kennedy has given up a combined 17 hits and 12 earned runs. The Diamondbacks are currently in first place and carry a 20-16 road record into tonight’s’ ballgame.
I’m siding with Diamondbacks in this game. Richard has been catastrophic and the Diamondbacks offense is seeking revenge tonight at www.sportsbookroom.com.
