The Diamondbacks (32-24) are now eight games above .500 after winning five of their last seven with the losses coming against the Cubs and the final game against the Rangers. The Diamondbacks lost that first game to the Cubs but finished the series with two straight wins and they take that streak in to this series with the Cardinals. They outscored the Cubs 20-8 in those final two games. Patrick Corbin pitched in the D-Backs latest game against Chicago and continues his awesome season. Corbin is now 9-0 even though he gave up four runs in just six innings on Sunday. Arizona was able to get seven runs off of Edwin Jackson, the starter for the Cubs.
The Cardinals (37-19) are creeping towards 20 games above .500 after winning two of three against the San Francisco Giants. The Cardinals dominated the Giants in the first two games of the series, outscoring them to the tune of 15-1. The Giants recovered and beat St. Louis in the last game on Sunday, 4-2. Lance Lynn, 7-1, will start on Monday for the Cardinals.
Arizona is 29-27 against the spread and the Cardinals are 33-23 ATS.
