One of the major upsets in this year’s Round of 64 was Harvard’s shocking win against the third-seeded New Mexico. The winner advances to the Sweet 16. Check out the NCAA Tournament odds at Bovada sportsbook.
Arizona (26-7) was the popular team to pick against in the Round of 64. Many thought, including me, that Arizona was the team that was going to get upset by mid-major Belmont. Arizona took that as an insult and dominated the Bruins, 81-64, in the Round of 64. Arizona started the season as a top five team in the country but started to fall off once conference play began. They couldn’t win the regular season crown and then lost to UCLA in the semi-final of the Pac-12 Tournament. They limped into the tournament as a six but had no problem advancing to the weekend.
Harvard (20-9) is the real story here. The 14-seed defeated New Mexico, who many experts had reaching the Elite 8 and maybe even the Final Four. Harvard led most of the game and finally put it away behind outstanding three point shooting. The win, was Harvard’s first tournament win in school history and pushes them that much closer to a Sweet 16 bid. Harvard dominated the Ivy League and wins the first game for the conference in more than five years (Cornell).
Arizona is 15-16 against the spread and covered the spread in their game in the Round of 64. Harvard is 14-12-1 ATS this season and definitely beat the spread after their huge upset win.
I am going to jump on the bandwagon and hope that Harvard pushes into the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history. Arizona is the better team but sometimes in March, it doesn’t matter who is better so take the points with the Crimson but first read a sports book review.
