The Braves and the Reds will play for the third and final time of this series in Cincinnati on Wednesday. Get MLB odds at Top Bet sportsbook.
The Braves (19-12 entering Tuesday) were off to a blistering start to the begin the season but have since cooled off. After starting 13-2, the Braves have been just 6-10 in their last 16 games and desperately need to get back into the swing of things. It is a long season, but they do not want to ruin such a good start by relaxing a bit during this early stretch. Power hitting has been the key for the Braves so far this season and they have been getting a lot of that from Justin Upton. Upton has 12 home runs and 21 RBI’s on the year and both lead the team. Evan Gattis has added seven home runs of his own and Dan Uggla has five.
The Reds (18-15 entering Tuesday) came into this series with the Braves on a three game winning streak after they swept the Cubs in Chicago. But on Monday, that streak was ended as the Braves defeated them, 7-4. Mike Leake, 2-1 with a 4.15 ERA, will start on Wednesday for the Reds against Atlanta. Cincinnati is 3-3 in Leake’s six starts.
Atlanta is 16-15 against the spread and the Reds are just 15-18 ATS.
I will pick the Braves. The two pitchers are basically even and I wouldn’t give the edge to either one of them. I will give the edge to the Braves offense and their ability to get the ball out of the park more often than almost any other team so to take Atlanta Click Here.
