The win streak has now hit eight for the Atlanta Braves and the Mets look to finally end it on Sunday. Check MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
As just eluded to, Atlanta (30-18) has now played eight games without losing a game after two sweeps of the Dodgers and the Twins and now two wins against the Mets. Six of those games came at home but they have taken the streak on the road and won two in New York. The main reason for this streak has been the pitching and defense for the Braves. They have yet to give up more than five runs in any one of these last eight games. Julio Teheran will start on Sunday looking to push the streak to nine straight wins. Teheran is 3-1 this year in eight starts and has an ERA of 3.99. The Braves have only lost one game when Teheran has started this year.
As the Braves continue to win, the Mets (17-29) continue to lose. Their streak is now at five games which include three to the Reds and two to Atlanta. Shaun Marcum will start for the Mets and he is 0-5 on the year. His ERA is 6.59 in five starts. He has lost every single start and that is not a good sign for a team that needs a win.
The Braves have a decent record against the spread, 27-21, while the Mets are just 16-30 ATS.
I can only pick the Mets against a team like Atlanta if Matt Harvey is pitching for them. He isn’t, so I take the Braves to extend the streak to nine but first check the sports odds.
