The Braves have a six game winning streak that they look to extend against the Mets in New York. Find MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
As just eluded to, Atlanta (28-18) has now played six games without losing a game after two sweeps of the Dodgers and the Twins. In those six games, the Braves have not played a single game on the road, but that will change against the Mets. The main reason for this streak has been the pitching and defense for the Braves. They have yet to give up more than five runs in any one of these last six games. Justin Upton is still launching bombs and driving in runs for the Braves. Upton leads the team in virtually every major offensive category. He has 14 home runs and 28 runs batted in off of his 44 hits on the year. Kris Medlen will make his tenth start of the season on Friday. Medlen is just 1-5 but still has an ERA of 2.78.
The Mets (17-27) are definitely not in as good a position as the Braves are. New York enters this series on a three game losing streak thanks to the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds came to New York and swept the Mets, who only scored seven runs.
The Braves have a decent record against the spread, 25-21, while the Mets are just 16-28 ATS.
I can only pick the Mets against a team like Atlanta if Matt Harvey is pitching for them. He isn’t, so I take the Braves to extend the streak to seven at www.sportsbookroom.com.
