The Hawks and the Pacers battle in game one of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Check the NBA odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Hawks (44-38) finished in sixth place in the East while just being six games over .500. Atlanta had a chance to break into the top five in the East and were in a fight with the Chicago Bulls for that position. The Bulls ultimately came up with the spot because the Hawks lost their last two games to the Knicks and the Raptors. The Hawks lost five of their last seven games to end the season. The Hawks will now travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
The Pacers (49-32) had a better season than the Hawks and could really make a run for the Eastern Conference Finals. Their main competition before the Miami Heat would be the New York Knicks in the Eastern Semi-finals. Indiana has a chance to finally break through in the playoffs, something that they have not been able to do lately. The Pacers come into the playoffs limping. And limping severely. The Pacers lost five of their last six games with the only win coming against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Hawks are 37-43-2 against the spread and the Pacers are 42-39 ATS this season.
I like the Pacers to win this series in five or six games but I definitely think that they will win at home to start the series at the best sports books.
