With most playoff teams clinched, seeding is now up for grabs. The Spurs are looking to hold on to their 1-seed in the Western Conference when they host the Atlanta Hawks. Check out NBA odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Hawks (42-35) sit a game behind the Bulls for fifth place in the East and just two games behind the Brooklyn Nets for fourth. They seem safe to have at the worst a 6-seed in the East as they lead the Celtics by two and a half games. Most likely, their first round matchup will pin them with the Indiana Pacers, if the season ended today. The Hawks are 5-5 in their last 10 games but are 18-20 on the road, the third worst road record of teams that will make the playoffs in the East.
The Spurs (56-20) have hit some real turmoil for maybe the first team this season. They have been 6-4 in their last 10 and are tied for the second best record in the league but are on the verge of giving up the top seed in the West to the Thunder. In the showdown with the Thunder that occurred on Thursday, the Spurs were beat down by 12 points. They have six games left to try to retake sole possession of the West.
The Hawks are 35-40-2 against the spread but 21-17 ATS on the road. San Antonio is 39-35-2 ATS and 19-17-2 at home.
The Spurs are not going to let the Thunder take over the West too easily. The Spurs will beat the Hawks and put the pressure back on Oklahoma City at the sportsbook.
