The New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles meet is a do or die game 5 tonight from Yankee Stadium. All odds for all games can be found at Bovada sportsbook.
Baltimore was a thorn in the side of the Yankees throughout the second half of 2012 and after a 2-1, 13 inning victory over the Bronx Bombers in game four of the ALDS they are still making the Yanks lives miserable. The Orioles were’t given much of a chance in this series but the work on the mound and at the plate has been clutch. Joe Saunders gave the Birds just what the doctor ordered with one run allowed over 5.2 innings and seven relievers held the NYY to a big goose egg. Baltimore turns to Jason Hammel to secure a spot in the ALCS. Hammel threw the ball well in the series opener with two runs given up on four hits and four walks over 5.2 innings of a 7-2 defeat but did not receive a decision.
This hasn’t been an easy series for New York and it didn’t get any easier Thursday in game four of the ALDS in a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Baltimore. Phil Hughes gave New York ample opportunities with one run given up on four hits and three walks while striking out eight in 6.2 innings of work. David Phelps took the loss with two hits given up and a run crossing the plate in the 13th. Left hander CC Sabathia gets his second start of the ALDS. Sabathia has had problems with Baltimore in 2012 but didn’t in game one with two runs allowed on eight hits and a free pass in 8.2 frames.
The Yankees have to be considered to have a serious edge because of CC being on the hill. We will however take the value and the Orioles as moneyline underdogs in this all important game 5 so check the sports odds.
