The Baltimore Orioles take on the New York Yankees in the Bronx tonight. Miguel Gonzalez and Ivan Nova are the scheduled starters. Look up MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Orioles enter in second place in the AL East, behind the Boston Red Sox. They are 22-20 on the road this season, which is just three wins less than their total wins at home for this balanced team. Miguel Gonzalez comes in with a 6-3 record and 3.77 ERA to go with a 1.19 WHIP. In his last start against the Indians, he surrendered nine hits and three earned runs while striking out nine. He also gave up two home runs, which has become a pattern for him giving up the long bomb in five of his last six starts. On the road this year he has tossed 42 2/3 innings with a 3.38 ERA. In his last road start against the Blue Jays he surrendered three hits in 7 1/3 innings pitched while striking out five.
The Yankees continue to struggle, as they are in fourth place in the division. They have won four of their last ten games and are coming off a series with the Twins. Nova enters with a 2-2 record, 4.63 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. In his last start against the Orioles he lasted just 5 2/3 innings giving up six hits and two earned runs. He pitched well at home against Tampa 11 days ago tossing 6 2/3 innings and only giving up three earned runs.
The over is the safe bet here as the Yankees can hit in their ballpark and the Orioles we know can score runs at the sportsbook.
