The Orioles and the A’s open up a four game series in Oakland. Get MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Orioles (12-9) have been playing really well lately even though they just lost their last game to the Toronto Blue Jays. The Orioles have won two games out of the three in each of their last three series, against the Blue Jays, Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays. All three of those series took place in Baltimore. The Orioles are still 5-4 on the road this season and now travel out west to take on the Athletics in Oakland. Chris Davis is having a remarkable start to the season, hitting .356, which leads the Orioles. Along with that, Davis leads Baltimore in home runs (7) and RBI’s (22). Adam Jones is also having quite a start and leads the team in hits. Jones has 30 hits so far and is hitting .345 with 17 runs batted in. Jason Hammel will start on Thursday. Hammel is 2-1 in four starts with an ERA at 4.74.
The A’s (13-9) on the other hand, have been playing not so well lately. The A’s started 9-2 before losing seven of their last 11 heading into the series with the Orioles. In even more recent play, the A’s are just 1-5 in their last six games. They finally get to come back to Oakland after playing their last six games on the road.
The Orioles are 12-9 against the spread and the A’s are 14-8 ATS.
Jarrod Parker has not pitched well this season for the A’s and the team in general has struggled lately. I like the Orioles to win the series opener on the road at www.sportsbookroom.com.
