The Baltimore Orioles make their way south to take on the Tampa Bay Rays in an AL East showdown. Jason Hammel is the scheduled starter for the Orioles, Chris Archer for the Rays. Review MLB odds at Top Bet sportsbook.
The Rays lost 5-2 in Detroit last night; Victor Martinez was 2-4 with three RBI’s and a home run for the Tigers. They have now dropped three out of their last five, but have won their last three games at Tropicana field. This will be Archer’s second start this season and eighth of his major league career. June 1st in Cleveland he was roughed up only lasting four innings, giving up five earned runs and surrendering seven hits and three walks. He also allowed two home runs.
The Orioles came out victorious against the Houston Astros yesterday with a 3-1 victory, scoring all their runs in the fourth inning. JJ Hardy was 4-4 with an RBI and they got a seven strike out, quality start from Michael Gonzalez. Jason Hammel takes the mound today, five days after being hit hard in his last start in Detroit. He was not able to go more than three innings giving up five runs on five hits, including three home runs and three walks. Hammel hasn’t found this season as successful as last year to this point. He enters with a 5.43 ERA but still has managed to earn seven wins. Hammel has been dominant on the road however, six of his seven wins have been outside of Camden Yards and he has not lost on the road. Baltimore has won seven of their last ten total games.
I’m siding with Baltimore (+102) and the proven veteran pitcher who has shown he is a road warrior and to take the Orioles Click Here.
