The NFL wagering odds from Monday Night Football have the home team Detroit Lions favored by -5 ½ points with a total lined at 49 ½ points. Those who play on Detroit on the money line will lay -240 odds with the return on Baltimore at +205 odds on the money line.
Both teams are competing for playoffs spots as we enter this week 15 game. The Ravens trails the Miami Dolphins by a ½ game for the final AFC Wildcard playoff spot. They are now 1 ½ games behind the Cincinnati Bengals for the AFC North title and the team will face the Bengals on the road in week seventeen. Detroit must win to keep pace with the Chicago Bears in the NFC North division. The Lions control their own destiny as they own the tiebreaker with the Bears based on the fact that Detroit won all both games against Chicago this season. This year we have seen a lot of high scoring games especially when NFC teams met AFC teams. This occurs because AFC and NFC teams meet just once every four years so defenses are not familiar with the opposing offenses and often issue occur in the secondary with loose and blown coverage. In these AFC versus NFC games we often see receivers finding more space in zone and man to man coverage as the defenders are afraid of giving up big plays they give up more and more underneath stuff for major yardage. Baltimore has not ran a lick this year and puts their fate with Joe Flacco and the passing game. Detroit behind Matthew Stafford and his talented receiving corps is the third ranked passing team in all of the NFL. The Lions defense is 26th in the league in defending the pass so look for Baltimore to air it out as well.
With our NFL pro football pick for Monday Night Football we will play on the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions to play over the total of 49 ½ points but prior to wagering take a peek at a sports book review.
