The Phoenix Suns are looking to continue the success they have had vs. the Clippers in Los Angeles tonight in an important western conference matchup.
After returning home from a six game road trip the Clippers finally got themselves back on track on Wednesday by taking down the visiting Hawks by a score of 96-82. The Suns come into tonight’s matchup having won 8 of their last 11 games which included a 120-111 win over the Jazz on Wednesday night. The streak for the Suns has come in a stretch of games where they have played 10 of 11 at the home arena.
In the only meeting between the two teams this season the Suns, again playing at home, defeated the Clippers 81-78 in a hard fought contest. The difference in the game was the third quarter which saw the Suns outscore the Clippers 31-17 in the stanza. In the game, Jared Dudley led the Suns with 22 points while Clippers star Blake Griffin had an off night with 17 points on 6 of 17 shooting.
In the last 8 head-to-head games the Suns are 6-2 ATS. The Clippers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. teams with a sub .400 win percentage, but have struggled against better teams with a 1-5 ATS record as a whole in their last 6 home games overall. The Suns are 6-2 ATS overall in their last 8 games. They have however struggled against teams ATS when playing a team with a win percentage of at least .600. They are just 3-8 in their last 11 games in that specific situation.
While the run Phoenix has went on has been impressive it is really tough to figure out if they are legit or not because a most of those games were played at home. With how dreadful the Clippers have been playing lately, we have to give the Suns a chance and when it comes down to it you cannot just completely ignore how good they have been playing. We are not in love with them, but the better bet is the Suns and the points at the best sports books.
