Boise State and La Salle were the last couple of bubble teams that were admitted into the NCAA Tournament and look to advance to the round of 64. The winner will play Kansas State. Get college basketball odds at Bovada sportsbook.
Boise State (21-10) is a somewhat controversial team that earned a bid to the tournament while losing eight games in the Mountain West Conference. The Broncos finished fifth in their conference and lost in their first game, the quarterfinal in the conference tournament to San Diego State. The Broncos finished strong by winning five of their last seven but is definitely a questionable bubble team that made the field of 68. Boise State’s last appearance in the tournament was in 2008 when they lost in the first round to Louisville. They have yet to win a game in their five appearances.
La Salle (21-9) also received admittance by the skin of their teeth. La Salle finished fourth in a very competitive Atlantic 10 conference behind Saint Louis, VCU and Temple. They lost in their first game, the quarterfinal, to Butler, a 6-seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Atlantic 10 was been a much better conference this season than the Mountain West and La Salle won games against Villanova, Butler and VCU.
Against the spread, Boise State is 16-11 and 6-3 ATS after a loss. La Salle is 12-12-2 against the spread and 4-3 after losing their previous game.
My pick here is La Salle. In my opinion, I do not believe that Boise State deserves a spot in the tournament. They have both played good competition but I think the top 5 in the A10 is stronger than the top 5 in the Mountain West. La Salle moves on at best online sportsbooks.
