One of the biggest rivalries in the NBA is renewed on Friday when the Celtics travel to Miami to take on the team with the best record in the league, the Heat. Get NBA odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Celtics (40-38) have been just cruising through the past couple of regular seasons, earn themselves a seed in the top four or five and then really get down to business in the playoffs. This year has not been the same. They looked like they were on that road again before Rajon Rondo tore his ACL. Rondo has not played the last couple of months but still leads the NBA with the most triple-doubles with five. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce will both not play against Miami due to ankle injuries. Boston looks like they will finish in the seventh position placing them against the Knicks in the first round.
The Heat (62-16) have had an incredible year as they look to defend their NBA Championship they won the year before. The Heat have already clinched the best record in the league and are leading the Knicks, the second best team in the East, by over 10 games. A lot of their starters have been sitting out the last couple games to get healthy before entering the post season. Still, the Heat have won four in a row and eight of their last 10 games.
The Celtics are 34-41-3 against the spread this season and the Heat are 43-35 ATS.
The Celtics are missing some of their best players and the Heat have been so good at home this season. It is unclear who will all start for the Heat but they have shown that they can still win games without the Big 3. Heat win at home but will not cover the spread with nothing to play for at the sports book.
