The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees will meet on Friday to start the last series before the All-Star break. All odds and trends for this game can be found at Oddsmaker Sportsbook.
The Red Sox return home to Fenway Park coming off of a dreadful road trip after getting swept in Oakland. The Red Sox are just 21 – 21 at home this season and have struggled getting clutch hits at times and their starting staff has been not what they expected either. They will start Josh Beckett tonight who makes his second start since returning from the DL. He has allowed 77 hits in 84 innings of work good enough for 4.06 ERA.
The Yankees have absolutely blown open their lead in the AL East in the past month and have a really nice cushion in the standings. They are 24 – 16 on the road this season and have been led by the usual suspects on offense, but is their pitching staff has been great as of late. The Yankees will start Hiroki Kuroda who has not allowed more than three runs in a start since May. He is pitching to a 3.17 ERA in 102 innings of work this season.
Boston is 4-1 in their last five home games, 0-4 in their last four games against a right handed starter, and 13-5 in Beckett’s last 18 starts against the A.L. East. New York is 21-6 in their last 27 games following a win, 10-3 in their last 13 road games, and 2-5 in Kuroda’s last seven road starts. Boston is 6-0 in Beckett’s last six starts against New York.
Although Kuroda has been pitching well, we like the idea of the over in this game. Expect them to get into the bullpens pretty early on both sides which will lead to a high-scoring affair but before betting check sports odds.
