The Boston Red Sox head to Tampa to face the Tampa Bay Rays. All odds for all games can be found at Bovada sportsbook.
Boston is in a fight to stay out of the American League East basement and after watching them over the past few weeks their chances of accomplishing that goal looks to be a coin flip. That goal took a hit Sunday in a 5-0 defeat at Toronto which has the Red Sox looking a only four wins in the past eleven contests where both the offense has come and gone. Boston sends veteran Aaron Cook to the bump for the series opener. Cook has struggled over his last ten outings, going 1-8 with a no decision with the home run hurting him and an inability to get the key out.
Tampa Bay’s drive to capture the American League East or the Wild Card took a direct hit the past week. In the last week, the Rays were swept by Baltimore and than dropped two of three to the Yankees following a 6-4 loss on Sunday. Overall, TB has fallen in seven and eleven and that won’t cut it as they now trail the Bronx Bombers by five full games with the regular season winding down. Alex Cobb toes the rubber looking to rebound from a rare loss. In his last ten times out, Cobb has gone has gone 5-2 with two no decisions while the Rays have won eight of his last nine starts.
While neither of these teams have looked particularly good lately we will go with the better team at home in Tampa on the moneyline but first check sports odds.
