The Boston Red Sox and the Toronto Blue Jays will meet on Saturday for game two of their series from Fenway Park in Boston. Get MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
Red Sox pulled a big win out on Thursday again in Chicago, but last night lost to the Blue Jays at home. Josh Beckett earned his eighth loss of loss of the season pitching dreadful once again. Today Boston will start Aaron Cook who is making just his 6th start of the season and is pitching to a 3.34 ERA.
The Blue Jays are last place in the AL East, but are tightly bunched with every team in the division except the Yankees. They got the series off last night to a good start with a win and will look to build on that when they send Carlos Villanueva to the mound who has yet to lose this season. In just 50 innings of work however he is pitching to an ERA of 2.65.
Boston is 8-3 in their last 11 games as a favorite of up to -150, 2-6 in their last eight home games against a right handed starter, and 0-4 in their last four game two of a series. Toronto is 4-7 in their last 11 games overall, 2-7 in their last nine road games, and 1-5 in Villenueva’s last six starts as a road underdog. Toronto is 4-8 in their last 12 games in Boston.
We think Cook is due for a bad outing and for that matter Villanueva as well. Look for these two strong hitting teams to go over the total for total runs scored at the sports book.
