Dempster enters tonight’s matchup with a 4-3 record, 4.38 ERA and 1.49 WHIP. His last game against the Rays however he was superb tossing eight innings and giving up just three hits and six strikeouts. Dempster has not made it to the seventh inning in any start this year, however has thrown over 100 pitches in seven starts. He has not won a game at home since April 27th against Houston. Boston has won five of their last seven home games. The Red Sox are currently in first place two games ahead of the Orioles. They are 22-18 on the road this season and have won five of their last ten.
The Angels enter in third place in the AL West with a 41-44 record. Williams is 8-5 this season with a 3.72 ERA and 1.35 WHIP. He has won four of his last five starts, but lost his last one against the Orioles. He only lasted five innings giving up seven hits and five earned runs while striking out five and walking four in the process. His last two home starts, Williams has given up a total of 14 hits and eight earned runs overall. Los Angeles is 22-24 at home this season.
