The Twins will play host to the Red Sox in Minnesota to begin a three game series on Friday. Get MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Red Sox (24-17) had to travel from Tampa Bay, where they just played their last three games, to Minnesota for this next series without a single day in between the games. Boston finished their series with the Rays in pretty good fashion after they lost the series opener. The Red Sox came back and won the last two games to win the series. Jon Lester received a win to enhance his record to 6-0. However, Lester is not the only one with a record like that. Clay Buchholz will be starting for the Red Sox in Friday’s series opener with the Twins. Buchholz is 6-0 on the year as well in his eight starts; he has received a no-decision in his last two starts. Buchholz has a remarkable ERA of just 1.69 and Boston has won all but one of his eight starts this year.
Minnesota (18-19) is no longer above .500 after losing three of their last four games. In their last two series, Minnesota has lost two out of three to the Baltimore Orioles and the Chicago White Sox. Both of those series were played in Minnesota. This will be the Twins seventh home game in a row.
Boston is just 20-21 against the spread and the Twins are a solid 22-15 ATS.
These Red Sox pitchers just keep winning games and Buchholz is having a tremendous year, and I look for that to continue in Minnesota at www.sportsbookroom.com.
