The Yankees and the Red Sox renew one of the oldest and fiercest rivalries in all of sports as both teams open their seasons with a three game series. Find MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
Boston is looking to rebound from one of their worst seasons in the modern era. There was a bunch of controversy when it came to the Red Sox last year. Pitchers were accused of drinking in the clubhouse when they were not scheduled to play and injuries sort of ruined the whole season. Jon Lester is going to lead off for the Red Sox coming off of a 9-14 season. Lester is 85-48 throughout his career, showing that last year was just a fluke. Boston is looking to get back into the action when it comes to winning the AL East and making a playoff spot at least. Last year the Orioles were the surprise team that took a playoff spot and are primed to return to last year’s form.
The Yankees were incredible last season. New York finished with the best record in the American League and won the AL East. This rivalry is always a heated topic when it comes to both of these teams as fights are no longer uncommon in this rivalry. In the ALCS, the Yankees were bounced by the Detroit Tigers who ended up losing to the San Francisco Giants in just four games in the World Series.
This is the season opener for both teams so there are no against the spread statistics for either team this year.
