For Interleague Rivalry Week, the Phillies will now host the Red Sox for two games after playing in Boston for two. Check MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
This is a big week for the Phillies (25-27), who are still hovering around that .500 mark after going 5-5 in their last 10 games before the Boston series. They took a game from the Nationals in their last three game series heading into Rivalry Week but lost two to very good pitchers. They lost the first game to Jordan Zimmerman, who is now an impressive 8-2 on the season. Nobody expected that from Zimmerman and then they lost to Strasburg, who is just 3-5 now but is still obviously one of the best pitchers in baseball. The Phillies are coming off a win against the Red Sox after losing the first game.
Boston (32-21) holds the lead in the AL East after the Yankees lost for the third straight game and second in a row against the Mets. In their last series, Boston lost the first game to the Cleveland Indians before they came roaring back to win the next three and head in to this series on a three game winning streak. The Red Sox will go with John Lackey on Wednesday. Lackey is 3-4 with a 2.72 ERA.
Philadelphia is a nice 28-24 against the spread and more noticeably 17-10 ATS right after they lose a game. The Red Sox are 26-27 ATS despite their very good record.
The two teams have even pitchers on the mound on Wednesday and I think the Phillies can take another game. They were able to win one in Boston and I think they will take another one at home at best sportsbooks online.
