The Boston Red Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays in game one of the their three game series tonight. Jacob Odorizzo will make his third start this season while Felix Doubront goes for the Red Sox. Check the MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Rays and Red Sox both had the day off yesterday but are each coming off losses. The Sox turn to Felix Doubront to right the ship today. Doubront has not found much success this year, however posting a 4.91 ERA and 1.76 WHIP to go with his 4-3 record. Doubront at home this season has a 4.99 ERA and 1.43 WHIP, however has struck out 32 in 30 2/3 innings pitched this season. In his last two home starts he has given up 11 hits and five earned runs in 12 innings. The Sox have won five of their last ten games and enter with a 21-14 record at Fenway this season.
The Tampa Bay Rays are currently in fourth place in the AL East, five games back of these Sox. They look to make up some ground with rookie Jacob Odorizzi tonight, who comes with an 8.03 ERA. In his last start against Kansas City he surrendered four hits and two earned runs in just 3 2/3 innings while striking out four. In all of his starts combined, he has pitched just 12 1/3 innings giving up 17 hits and 11 earned runs while walking four. Tampa has lost six of their last ten.
It’s safe to say a lot of runs will be scored in this game with these pitchers, and in a hitters ballpark, I am siding with the over with sportsbook betting.
