The Nets (47-32) could not have imagined a better first season after moving to Brooklyn. With the addition of Joe Johnson and keeping Deron Williams, the Nets have turned into a top four team in the East with their sights set on the Eastern Conference Finals. However, in order to get there, the Nets will have to beat the Heat in the second round if the seeding works out. In the first round, the Nets will play either the Hawks or the Bulls. The Hawks currently own that spot by a half game with a couple left. The Nets are 7-3 in their last 10 games and have won their last four. There is still a chance they can get to third; they trail the Pacers by two games.
The Raptors (31-48) have not had the same type of year as the Nets. Many believed the addiditon of Rudy Gay would carry them in the right direction in the weak Eastern Conference but the Raptors are five and a half games out of the playoffs and will not make it again. Toronto has won their last two games and are 5-5 in their last 10.
The Nets are 38-38-3 against the spread this season while the Raptors are 38-40-1 ATS.
Brooklyn isn’t great on the road, 23-17, but the Raptors are pretty bad everywhere, they have a below .500 record at home and on the road. Brooklyn also has a lot more weapons, but the Nets have clinched home court for the first round so take the Raptors at best sportsbooks online.
