In a matchup of division leaders, the Chicago Bears (7-2) take on the San Francisco 49ers (6-2-1) Monday night at 8:30 ET. NFL odds are at Bovada sportsbook.
The Bears come into Monday night’s contest after suffering their first loss since Week 2 against the Packers. More importantly, they lost Cutler to a concussion, and will have Jason Campbell under center against one of the league’s best defenses. For the season, the Bears are 7-2 SU and 5-4 ATS, and have played well on the road, going 3-1 SU and ATS. They have played one of the weaker schedules this year, however, having gone 1-2 against teams with a winning record, with their only win being a victory at home against the Colts in Luck’s first start.
The Niners are coming off of a tie against the Rams at home, but before then, have played solid football all season, going 6-2-1 SU and 5-4 ATS. At home, they are 3-1-1 SU and 2-3 ATS. Defensively, they have given up single digits on four occasions this year, but they have struggled at times this year moving the ball.
The 49ers are now a 7 point home favorite, with the line shooting up after the Cutler announcement. The Bears defense has played well at times this year, and has even generated points. The question is whether or not the 49ers can score enough points against the Bears to cover. Look for the 49ers to win but for the Bears to keep it close in a very low scoring game.
