The Cincinnati Reds shoot for back to back wins against the Chicago Cubs Wednesday. All odds and trends for this game can be found at Bovada sportsbook.
At times, it seems that Cincinnati has been in cruise control but the fact of the matter is they are one of the few teams that have that luxury. The Reds have still won six of nine after taking down the Cubs 3-1 on Tuesday for win number six in nine contests so they aren’t taking games off but it’s probably nice to enjoy a stress free stretch rum. Cincinnati has been getting just enough hitting and pitching in the wins with the pitching carrying the load Tuesday. Mike Leake takes the ball Wednesday riding a 3-1 streak and looking to keep rolling in to the playoffs. In the wins, Leake has given up seven runs on 26 hits and three walks covering 19.2 innings of work.
The Cubs are obviously not going any where as far as the postseason is concerned but that hasn’t stopped them from being a thorn in the side of teams that harbor playoff hopes. Chicago gave the Reds a tough go of it before falling 3-1 on Tuesday for just their fourth defeat in eleven contests. Both the work on the mound and at the plate have been on the same page over the past few weeks but only the pitching showed up. Rookie Christopher Rusin is scheduled to make his fourth start of the season. It has been a mixed bag for the right hander as he has not gone past five inning due to some high pitch counts.
The Reds obviously have the advantage in every way in this game. We will take the first place team as a moneyline favorite but first read a sportsbook reviews.
