The Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers will meet tonight from Wrigley Field. All MLB odds and trends can be found at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Cubs are definitely a work in progress and on Monday they were on the wrong side of a lopsided game. They amassed just nine hits and scored four runs on offense and starter Justin Germano struggled on the mound. Their bullpen also came in and had a horrendous outing which led to the blowout. Tonight Chicago will start Travis Wood who has allowed 98 hits in 107 innings of work good enough for a 4.76 ERA.
The Brewers are getting hot but unfortunately for them and their fans it looks like it’s a bit too late. They scored 15 runs on 21 hits in all and throttled the cubs. Marco Estrada earned his second straight win on the mound and Milwaukee will start Yovani Gallardo tonight who has won his last five starts. Gallardo is pitching to a 3.62 ERA in 161 innings of work.
Chicago is 7-20 in their last 27 games overall, 8-22 in their last 30 games against a right handed starter, and 0-8 in Wood’s last eight starts. Milwaukee is 6-1 in their last seven games overall, 19-39 in their last 58 road games, and 5-2 in Gallardo’s last seven road starts. Milwaukee is 21-8 in the last 29 meetings of these two.
This one looks like an easy pick and the odds dictate that. Give us the Brewers as a heavy moneyline favorite on the road but first read a sports book review.
