After each team had a day off, the Cubs and the Pirates begin a three game series in Pittsburgh. Find MLB odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Cubs (18-25) have not been great this season, obviously, but they have been splitting each of their last six games or so and before that, Chicago won three in a row, against the Nationals and the Colorado Rockies. In their last series, the Cubs lost two out of three games to the New York Mets. Scott Feldman was the only pitcher to get the win against the Mets to advance his record to 4-3. The Cubs open up the series with the Pirates with Matt Garza on the mound. Garza will be making his first start of the season due to his arm injury. Garza has a career record of 57-61 as a pitcher in the Majors.
Pittsburgh (26-18) has now boosted their record to eight games above .500 and have been playing pretty well as of late. The Pirates have now won five of their last six games, with the only loss coming against the Astros. Pittsburgh did take two of the three from Houston, though. Wandy Rodriguez has a 4-2 record and a 3.25 ERA and will start for Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Wandy has made eight starts and the Pirates have lost just two of them.
Chicago has a 24-19 record against the spread despite being seven games under .500. Pittsburgh has a 27-17 record ATS.
Rodriguez has been pitched very well this season and with that said, the Pirates are the pick in this game, especially with how they have been playing lately at the sportsbook.
