Chicago is trying to bounce back from their 5-4 loss yesterday to the Mariners. Edwin Jackson enters 3-10 with a 6.29 ERA and 1.67 WHIP. The right-hander has lost five out of his last six decisions and has given up 28 runs in his last 30 innings. This makes you wonder why he is still in the big leagues with that kind of performance. His last start against the Diamondbacks, his former team, Jackson surrendered 12 hits, three walks and gave up five earned runs in 5 2/3 innings. Five of his eight losses have come at Wrigley field and the Cubs have lost five out of their last six.
The Mariners have surprised nobody this season. They are in fourth place in the AL West, 9.5 games back of the Rangers and have won four of their last ten. Jeremy Bonderman enters with a 1-1 record and 3.30 ERA to go with a 1.23 WHIP. He has tossed five games this year, his most recent one against the Athletics. He surrendered eight hits while giving up four earned runs. In his last two home starts combined however, he has given up 12 hits and just three earned runs over 12 1/3 innings pitched.
