The White Sox and the Twins meet today for an important game for Chicago. All odds and trends for this game can be found at Bovada sportsbook.
The White Sox sit atop the American League Central but their lead is a scant one game over Detroit. The bottom line is the White Sox need to start playing well starting now and continue on through the final few weeks of the regular season and hopefully in to the postseason. If they are to accomplish this goal, both the bats and arms need to get on the same page and both came through in 6-0 win over Minnesota Friday. Starter Chris Sale tossed a three hit shut out over six frames to get the win while the offence launched a nine hit, six walk attack. Kevin Youkillis clubbed a home run with Dayan Viciedo knocking in a pair. Rookie left hander Jose Quintana takes the mound shooting for back to back victories. Quintana defeated Detroit 6-1 with a run scoring on seven hits and two free passes in 7.2 innings.
Minnesota is in spoiler mode for the remainder of the season and really have been before the All Star break. That hasn’t been all that successful with the Twins unable to sustain hot streaks largely because the work on the mound hasn’t held up for extended periods. The offense has been generally the strong point of this team but it wasn’t Friday and needed to be. Esmerling Vasquez gave up three runs on three hits and four bases on balls with the pen allowing the remainder. The Twins attack was stymied on four harmless singles and didn’t threaten. Samuel Deduno toes the rubber having won two of his last three. In these three games Deduno has allowed only four runs on ten hits and six walks with 18 K’s over 20 innings pitched.
Although Deduno has been solid lately we still like the White Sox who have more to play for in this one. Take them on the money line so pick up sportsbook promotion codes.
