The White Sox head to Kansas City for the first of a three game set against the Royals. Hector Santiago will start for the Sox while Jeremy Guthrie gets the nod for Kansas City. Check the MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The White Sox are currently in last place in the AL Central, 10 games behind Detroit for first place. Hector Santiago comes in with a 1-4 record and 3.82 ERA to go with his 1.34 WHIP. In his last start in Houston he surrendered five hits and three earned runs while walking four and striking out eight. In his last five starts he has been on the road five times and has won just one of those games. His last win came June 9th against Oakland where he pitched 6 1/3 innings, giving up four hits and one earned run while walking three. The Sox have lost three in a row and have only won three of their last ten games.
The Royals, however have been great this season. They are in second place in the AL Central, 3.5 games back of the Tigers and have won six of their last ten. Jeremy Guthrie enters with a 7-4 record and 3.72 ERA to go with a 1.36 WHIP. He has won two of his last three starts, but lost his most recent one against the Rays. He surrendered eight hits while giving up four earned runs. In his last two home starts combined however, he has given up 12 hits and just three earned runs over 12 1/3 innings pitched.
I’ll grab the Royals here, I believe Guthrie is the better pitcher and the Royals overall are the better team www.sportsbookroom.com.
