The Chicago White Sox welcome the Toronto Blue Jays to the windy city for game one of a three game set tonight. R.A. Dickey takes the mound for the Blue Jays while Dylan Axelrod gets the nod for the White Sox. Find MLB odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Blue Jays lost to the Texas Rangers yesterday 6-4, but took two out of three in the series. Adam Lind hit a three run home run in the fourth inning for the Jays, but with the loss they fell even further in the AL east standings, now 11 back of first place. R.A. Dickey gets the nod today and has performed anything like he did last year with the Mets. Dickey brings a 5-7 record with a 4.66 ERA and 1.31 WHIP into tonight’s game. His last start in San Francisco was outstanding however, lasting 8 1/3 innings giving up two hits and two walks, striking out five. Unfortunately for Dickey that was his first road win since April 13th against the Kansas City Royals. As a team, Toronto is 3-6 in their last nine road games and are 5-5 in their last 10 overall.
The White Sox beat the Athletics 4-2 yesterday, splitting the four game set. Dylan Axelrod gets the call tonight. In his last start in Seattle he threw 5 1/3 innings surrendering six hits and walking five but received a no decision. For the season he is 3-4 with a 3.73 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. In his last three home starts he has given up 17 hits and 10 earned runs. The Sox have won three out of their last ten.
Axelrod has proven he struggles at home and as a team Chicago Is in the bottom fifth in runs scored. I’ll side with the hot Dickey and road Blue Jays here at best online sportsbooks.
