The Cincinnati Reds and the New York Mets will meet on Wednesday again from Cincinnati. All MLB odds for all teams can be found at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Reds could not get a runner across home plate until a walk off homerun in the ninth gave them the win. Jay Bruce hit a three-run walk-off homerun to secure the win for the Reds who’ve blasted 11 hits in all. Tonight on the mound Cincinnati will start Mike Leake who has struggled over the last month or so. In 131 innings of work this season Leake has let up 145 hits.
The Mets played hard for the whole game yesterday, but ended up on the wrong side of a walk-off loss. Chris Young was strong on the mound, but in the end the bullpen could not hold it for him. Tonight the Mets will start RA Dickey and he continues to be the lone bright spot for the Mets. He is allowed just 127 hits in 162 innings of work this season.
Cincinnati is 8-0 in their last eight games against the NL East, 26-8 in their last 34 games overall, and 4-0 in Leake’s last four game two of a series. New York is 2-6 in their last eight games overall, 1-8 in their last nine games as a favorite, and 7-2 in Dickey’s last nine road starts. New York is 1-5 in the last six meetings of these two.
The total for this one is set very attractively for an over for total runs scored. So that’s what we will take in this one at the sports books.
