The Cincinnati Reds travel to Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks in the second of their three game series tonight. It will be a great pitching duel as Mike Leake battles Patrick Corbin. Check out the MLB odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The road Reds come in 3.5 games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for first place in the NL Central. They have won six of their last ten games and bring an 18-16 road record into tonight’s contest. Leake has been spectacular so far this season for the Reds as he has a 7-3 record with a 2.64 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. Leake has won four of his last five matchups including his last two against Pittsburgh and in Chicago. Over those two starts he has surrendered just nine hits and two earned runs in 15 innings pitched while striking out nine. His previous three road starts Leake did not give up an earned run in 20 1/3 innings pitched.
The Diamondbacks enter two games in front of the Giants for first place in the NL West. Patrick Corbin has been superb this season with a 9-0 record, 2.28 ERA and 1.01 WHIP. Having said that he has had three straight no decisions datuing back to his June Second game in Chicago against the Cubs. In his last three starts, Corbin has given up 10 hits and six earned runs while striking out nine in the process. Corbin at home has a 1.71 ERA in 47 1/3 innings pitched, giving up just nine earned runs.
I’ll side with the under in this matchup with two dominant starters on the mound. I anticipate them both to continue their great season but first read a sports book review.
