The Reds travel to Chicago tonight to take on the Cubs in the first of a four game set at Wrigley. Homer Bailey gets the nod for the Reds while Scott Feldman will start for the Cubs. MLB odds are found at Top Bet sportsbook.
The Reds lost to the Cardinals yesterday 11-4 in 10 innings. Matt Holiday hit a grand slam in the 10th for St. Louis dropping Cincinnati to three back in the NL Central. They turn to Homer Bailey tonight who enters with a 3-4 record and a 3.84 ERA. Bailey was blown up in his last road start in Cleveland throwing on 3 2/3 innings giving up even hits and seven runs. Three out of his four losses have been on the road as he has struggled mightily outside of the Great American ballpark. The Reds have won only four out of their last ten, including three out of five on the road.
The Cubs avoided a sweep yesterday against the Pirates with a 4-1 victory at home. Edwin Jackson finally turned in a good start going seven strong and striking out eight. Cody Ransom hit a three run homer in the seventh, giving them the lead they would not give up. Tonight Scott Feldman toes the rubber; he comes in 5-4 with a 2.84 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. In his last home start against his cross-town rival Cubs, Feldman earned the victory giving up six hits and two runs in six innings pitched. In his last three home starts he has pitched 20 innings only giving up two runs. As a team, the Cubs have won just one out of their last five at Wrigley.
I’ll side with the Reds in this matchup. Their high-powered offense will be too much against a team that struggles to score at all so to take Cincinnati Click Here.
