The Royals are hot, winning eight of their last ten games. They currently stand just five games back of Detroit for first place in the AL Central. They turn to James Shields tonight who enters with a 2-6 record, 2.79 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. Shields has lost his last four decisions, but his team has won his last three starts. He has pitched seven innings in each of his last three starts, surrendering two earned runs in the last two, however giving up 14 hits. Walks have been an issue; he has surrendered 11 in his last four appearances. The Royals are 16-18 on the road this year and are looking to cut the gap in the division to four games.
Carlos Carrasco will be making his third career start tonight. The first two did not go well for the right-handers as he enters with an 0-2 record and 15.26 ERA. He has surrendered 17 hits and 13 earned runs in 7 2/3 innings this season. His last start in Detroit he gave up 10 hits and six earned runs while walking three in just four innings. Cleveland has won just four of their last ten games and are 14-21 on the road this season.
I will side with the Royals on the road on a hot streak against a young pitcher who has struggled so first check out the online sportsbook reviews.
