The Denver Nuggets and the Detroit Pistons will meet tonight from the Pepsi Center in Denver. NBA odds are at Bovada sportsbook.
With three straight road losses to start the season, the Nuggets can’t wait to get in front of their home crowd and tally up their first win. In their latest loss, the Nuggets played sensationally (on the offensive end) against the Heat, but fell by 119-116 thanks to a game winning three pointer from Ray Allen at the buzzer. Led by 22 points apiece from Kenneth Faried and Andre Iguodala, the Nuggets moved the ball well and shared the scoring, with seven players finishing in double digits in points. However, on defense they simply had no answer for either Chris Bosh or Ray Allen who finished with 40 points and 23 points respectively.
As for the Pistons, perhaps it isn’t that surprising that they’re off to such a poor start and if you’re looking for a scapegoat, it would be very easy to point the finger at Rodney Stuckey who has made just one of 23 shots on the season. However, let’s be fair and just say that the whole team has been terrible, averaging just 88 points on the season, which includes a total of just 79 points in their 108-79 loss against the Lakers a couple nights ago. I don’t even want to waste time with stats for that loss, because the game was reduced to a casual shootaround after the Pistons fell behind by 34-13 at the end of the first quarter.
The Nuggets are winless, but have played well enough to win at least 2 of their first 3 games. We are not scared by this big spread. Give us Denver as a point spread favorite in a breakthrough win so first read a sports book review.
