The Tigers and the Nationals, two of the better teams in the majors, will square off in the first game of the series because their game was postponed on Tuesday. Check MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
Detroit (19-11) are in remarkable form at this point in the season after winning their last four games, all against the Houston Astros. Just before the series with the Astors, the Tigers lost to the Twins. That loss ended a five game winning streak for the Tigers, who beat the Twins twice and swept the Braves in three games. Detroit is 9-1 in their last 10 games but before that stretch, they were 1-5 in the previous six games. In conclusion, the Tigers have been very streaky thus far and it’ll be interesting to see if they can stabilize their play and get into a real groove. The Tigers have three normal starters that are hitting over .300, including Miguel Cabrera, who is hitting .385 with 36 RBI’s, which leads the team.
The Nationals (17-15) are hovering above .500 but are still in second in their division, the National League East. Washington enter this matchup in a bit of a streaky stretch as well. The Nats lost four games in a row, then won three, lost three and now enter this game winning four of their last five. Bryce Harper is hitting .312 with nine homers and 19 RBI’s, all team leaders.
Detroit is 17-13 against the spread and the Nationals are just 14-18 ATS.
I am going to pick the home team, Washington, in a matchup of two very evenly matched teams at www.sportsbookroom.com.
