In a pivotal SEC matchup the Florida Gators will host the LSU Tigers from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. All odds for all of the big CFB matchups can be found at Top Bet sportsbook.
After a few subpar seasons by Florida standards the Gators are one of the surprising teams in the country thus far. They have won their first four games of the season which have included two games won on the road against other SEC opponents. The biggest reason for the success of the Gators has been the surprise play of quarterback Jeff Driskel. He has been very efficient in the passing game only throwing one interception thus far. Florida has played tough teams with the likes of Tennessee, but hasn’t faced a team with the overall athletic prowess of LSU. This will be their biggest game of the year to date coming off of a bye week and also given the fact they are playing at the Swamp.
The LSU Tigers as usual had very lofty goals entering the season. Unfortunately they are in a situation where is it a lot is expected of them so it is not just about if they win it is about how they win as well. LSU is led by a stellar defense that is just allowing 12.6 points per game and has already accumulated eight interceptions in four games. To be honest, in watching LSU they have seemed bored with their inferior opponents up until this point. Look for them to turn it into high gear on a national stage on the road against Florida today.
We think this will be very competitive game, and in fact closer than some experts feel. In the end though we think the LSU advantage on the offensive and defensive lines will win in the end. Give us LSU as a very modest point spread favorite on the road at the sportsbooks.
