#15 Northern Illinois (12-1) tries to break up the BCS party when they take on #12 Florida St (11-2) in the Orange Bowl Tuesday at 8:30ET. College football bowl odds are at Bovada sportsbook.
Northern Illinois lost the first game of the year to Iowa by 1 point and has since run off twelve straight wins to go 12-1 SU and 9-2-2 ATS. Although winning twelve in a row is impressive, there really have been any signature wins during that run. They have been consistent, and have fared well against the spread, even when they have laid a lot of points.
Florida St. is 11-2 SU but only 3-9 ATS for the year. They have lost four in a row against the number, and five of their last six. Granted, they have won six of their last seven games straight up though. Their defense has shown some cracks toward the back half of the year, but they are still one of the best units in the country.
Florida St. is a 14 ½ point favorite. It is interesting to note that FSU laid a bigger number against Georgia Tech, Maryland, Duke, Miami, Boston College, NC St, South Florida, and Clemson, who just upset LSU last night. FSU’s defense should dominate Northern Illinois, this one should be a blow out. Take FSU -14 ½ at www.sportsbookroom.com.
