The Spurs and Warriors will play Game 1 on Monday in San Antonio to begin their Western Conference semi-final series. Get NBA playoff odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Warriors (4-2) have been the surprise of the playoffs thus far. Golden State is the 6-seed and opened up against the third-seeded Denver Nuggets in the first round. Denver only lost three games at home all season long and lost there in Game 2. Golden State went out to a 3-1 lead and were in control of the series. The Warriors lost Game 5 in Denver but still had a close out game in Game 6 in Oakland. They took care of business and now can advance to play the Spurs in the Western semifinals. Stephen Curry was the man of that series shooting at a blistering clip and leading the Warriors out of the first round. David Lee, who tore his hip flexor in Game 1, was back and played for the Warriors in Game 6 and should be able to play in this series.
The Spurs (4-0) breezed through the first round by really taking it to the injury-ridden Lakers. San Antonio is an older team and they know the importance of getting series’ over with and moving on. They were able to get a lot of rest after that sweep in the opening series.
Neither team has lost a game against the spread this post season. The Spurs are 4-0 against the spread while the Warriors are an impressive 6-0 ATS.
I have to pick the Spurs. I love the Warriors and how they have been playing this post season but the Spurs at home in the playoffs is easily the safe pick. Golden State can definitely win some on their home floor but it is going to be tough in San Antonio but take the points with the Warriors at the sportsbooks.
