The Warriors travel to Houston to take on the Rockets in a match-up of two potential playoff teams in the Western Conference. View NBA odds at Bovada sportsbook.
Golden State (37-30) currently sits in sixth in the Western Conference standings and should be a lock for the NBA playoffs barring a huge collapse as the season comes to an end. The Warriors are only two and a half games clear from the ninth position but they are one of four teams in the battle for three positions. Odds are looking good for Golden State entering the final stretch. However, the Warriors are just 4-6 in their last 10 games and have lost their last game against the Chicago Bulls. The Warriors are a young squad that has a bright future ahead of them and a very bright immediate future.
The Rockets (36-30) are one of those other teams in the same situation as Golden State. Because the two are playing against each other, this game becomes doubly important as a win puts one of these teams in a much better situation than the loser. Houston might have the biggest acquisition in all of basketball this year with James Harden. The Rockets have picked up Harden, who has become an absolute superstar, along with Jeremy Lin, the former New York Knick and Harvard point guard. Houston has won their last two and three of their last four games. The lone loss came in Phoenix by just two points.
Golden State is 32-34-1 against the spread this season while the Rockets are 35-30-1. The Warriors, on the road, are 15-19-1 ATS and the Rockets are 20-11 at home.
This is a tough game to pick between two very evenly matched teams. My pick gives the slight edge to the Warriors with shooting ability that cannot be paralleled for the most part in the league. Curry, Thompson and David Lee will lead Golden State to the road cover at www.sportsbookroom.com.
