The Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox play the second of their three game set tonight in Houston. John Danks will start for the Sox while Luke Harrell gets the nod for Houston. Check the MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Astros took the first game yesterday 2-1, even though Sox starters Chris Sale did not give up an earned run. Sale went the distance giving up five hits and striking out 14 in his fifth loss of the season. Tonight, they turn to John Danks who enters with a 1-2 record, 4.13 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. He has started just four games this season. In his last start against the Athletics, Danks went eight innings surrendering three hits and one earned run while striking out six. He has not won on the road this season. In two starts, Danks has given up 12 hits and seven earned runs while also surrendering three home runs. He lost both of those matchups. The White Sox are in last place in the AL Central and are just 12-22 away from home this season.
Houston is also in last place in the AL West. They turn to Luke Harrell today who is 4-7 with a 4.52 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. In his last home start however, Harrell surrendered just five hits and one earned run in seven innings pitched. He has won just one out of his last five decisions. Harrell has not won at home since April 24th against the Mariners.
I’ll side with the under in this matchup as neither of these teams have proven to be powerful offensively at the sports books.
