The lowly Astros are looking to complete a sweep against the Angels and continue a five game winning streak. Find MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
Houston (20-37) has had an awful season thus far but were sitting over 20 games below .500 last week. Now, Houston has managed to put five wins together in a row, with two of them against the Angels. In the first game against Los Angeles, the two teams went scoreless for the first six innings before the Astros finally broke the tie. Chris Carter did the damage in the seventh inning with two outs. Carter went deep for a two-run home run, and that was all the Astros needed. Bud Norris got the win to improve to 5-4. Erik Bedard is 0-2 this season with an ERA of 5.32. Bedard will start on Monday as the Astros go for the sweep.
The Angels (25-32) were putting a bunch of wins together and many people believed that they were going to get back in to contention for maybe a playoff run. LA went 10-2 before heading in to this series with the Astros. Surprisingly, the Angels lost the first two games against the Astros in LA. Joe Blanton, who for some reason is still getting opportunities, is starting on Monday. Blanton is 1-8 this year with an ERA that is just under 6.
Houston is still 31-26 against the spread and the Angels are 24-33.
I will pick the sweep. Blanton has been horrible this season and the Angels cannot beat the Astros for some reason at www.sportsbookroom.com.
