The Rockets (0-1) never were really into the game in Oklahoma City and were down 13 points at the half. The Rockets were outscored in every single quarter, most notable the third when they were beat 29-19. James Harden had a rough go back in his old hometown. Harden led his team in scoring with 20 points but shot just 6-19 from the field and was just 1-6 from three-point land. The Rockets could not have shot any worse in Game 1. They were 33-91 (36.3%) from the field and 8-36 (22.2%) from behind the arc. Jeremy Lin had one of his worst games as a Rocket. Lin had just four points and was just 1-7 from the field in 32 minutes.
The Thunder (1-0) got the start that they needed in Game 1 of the playoffs. Kevin Durant scored 24 points and had an insane +/- ratio of +34. Durant added seven assists as well. Russell Westbrook was able to flirt with a triple-double as he scored 19 points, dished out 10 assists and had eight rebounds. Kevin Martin had 16 points in 25 minutes off the bench.
The Rockets are 41-41-1 against the spread and the Thunder are 50-31-2. The Thunder covered Game 1 of the series.
