The Rockets were able to force a Game 5 that will be played in Oklahoma City. Get NBA playoff odds at Bovada sportsbook.
Houston (1-3) needed a really gritty effort in Game 4 to stay alive and force a Game 5. James Harden was not the usual James Harden and only scored 15 points. Most importantly, Harden had 10 turnovers that put the Rockets in series trouble when the game was getting tight but Houston was able to hold on, 105-103. Chandler Parsons played very aggressive in Game 4 and was able to get to the basket almost whenever he wanted. Parsons finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Omer Asik scored 17 points and had 14 rebounds but no play was more important than his contest on the defensive end as the last seconds were ticking off the clock. Many believed that it could have been called a foul but it wasn’t and the Rockets finally got on the board.
The Thunder (3-1) are really missing Russell Westbrook as they were unable to close out the series and complete the sweep of Houston. Much of the scoring pressure is now on Kevin Durant, who scored 38 points in 42 minutes. Durant was very efficient on 12-16 shooting. Reggie Jackson, filling in for Westbrook, scored 18 points.
Both teams have covered the spread twice in the four games of this series.
As much as I am rooting for the Rockets to push this series another game, I think they are competitive enough to cover this inflated point spread at best sportsbooks online.
