A check of the NFL preseason odds for Sunday Night Football and we find the home side New York Giants favored by -2 points with an over under line coming in at 41 points. A money line play on the New York Giants will return -130 odds with the return on the road underdog Indianapolis Colts at +130 odds to score the upset win in week two of the exhibition season.
The Colts are 0-1 in the preseason after a 44-20 beat down to the Buffalo Bills last week as a -4 ½ point betting odds favorite with the total flying over the number of 36 ½ points. Indianapolis in the 2012 season got away with a poor defensive play as the club surrendered 5.2 yards per carry to their opponents a season ago. Last week Indy 451 yards offensively to Buffalo as the Bills netted 136 rushing yards on 40 attempts and threw the ball for 315 yards on Indianapolis. Also an issue for Indianapolis is the fact the Bills starting quarterback Kevin Kolb missed the game and two rookies under center lit up the Colts as E.J. Manuel and Jeff Tuel combined for 35 of 44 passing for 315 yards and an alarming three touchdowns. The Giants went into Pittsburgh last week and put up a very good defensive effort by outlasting Pittsburgh 18-13 and covering the spread as a +2 ½ point road underdog. They held the Steelers offense to just two field goals in the first half. New York locked down the Pittsburgh offense by allowing just 218 yards for the game in the win as well as no offensive touchdowns. The Giants passed for 191 yards on the Steelers defense that played well. But the Colts defense in no way resembles one of the best defensive units assembled in the game in the Steelers so the Giants will have more offensive success in this game and especially in the red zone.
With our NFL preseason pick for Sunday we will play on the New York Giants at -1 ½ points but first redeem sportsbook promo codes.
